Milo’s one job is to care for his aging father, Terry, who suffers from Alzheimer’s. But Milo isn’t human. He’s a Simulant — an AI clone of the original Human Milo — embedded with the same memories. Including memories of his wife, Gianna.

Tonight Human Milo is hosting a dinner party for his Father, but when AI Milo’s fantasy to be with Gianna causes him to demand his freedom, Human Milo reacts violently. Terry intervenes to defend his son, but in his confusion, accidentally kills his true human son…

Without enough time to dispose of the body, AI Milo convinces his distraught father to help him hide the body in the buffet cabinet beside the dining room table… before the dinner guests arrive.

She takes shelter in the basement of a vacant office building with a group of strangers. But with all forms of communication down and no bombs arriving, the strangers grow restless as they disagree about the truth of what’s happening and who might be involved.

As various sinister but conspiratorial narratives develop in the others, Sydney — the survivor of a religious death cult from her childhood — fears the group’s beliefs and fear may turn violent, and she races to uncover the truth… a truth she believes might be already hiding somewhere within this very building.
